Circle of Security Parenting™
Circle of Security Parenting™ (COSP) is a reflective, relationship-based program that helps you see the world through your child’s eyes and understand what their behaviours are really trying to communicate.
Grounded in decades of attachment research, this group program offers a supportive roadmap for nurturing emotional safety, strengthening connection, and growing alongside your child.
About
Circle of Security Parenting
-
The Circle of Security Parenting program offers a simple visual roadmap to help you make sense of your child’s emotional world and respond to their needs with confidence and compassion.
-
This program is designed for parents and caregivers of children aged 0–5 years who want to understand themselves and their children more deeply, and nurture a stronger, more secure relationship.
For parents with a history of trauma, complex family relationships, or ongoing mental health challenges, a face-to-face group may offer a more supportive environment.
Please reach out if you’d like to discuss your individual circumstances and whether an online program would best meet your needs.
-
Circle of Security Parenting™ is delivered online over eight, weekly sessions.
Each group runs with a minimum of four and a maximum of six parents to ensure a supportive and connected experience.
Payment is only required once group numbers are confirmed.
-
The full 8-week program is $480 total.
Partners and co-parents are encouraged to join at no extra cost.
A payment plan can be arranged if required. Please contact admin@themamawell.com.au.

What we will cover
The program includes eight chapters of learning, combined with group discussions and reflection activities. Together, we will explore key themes such as:
-
We all experience moments when it’s hard to know exactly what our child needs.
Circle of Security Parenting™ offers a simple, visual roadmap to help you recognise, understand, and respond to your child’s attachment needs — whether they’re venturing out to explore or seeking comfort and closeness.
You’ll learn how to be the steady hands that hold them, fostering safety, trust, and security in your relationship. -
Every child will have moments of big emotion — and as parents, we often want to make the feelings disappear. In Circle of Security Parenting™, you’ll learn that what your child needs most isn’t fixing, but feeling felt. You’ll explore how to stay present and connected, helping your child feel safe in their emotions and in your relationship.
-
At times, our child’s feelings or behaviours can stir something within us — echoing the way we were cared for or the expectations we carry. In Circle of Security Parenting™, we call this “Shark Music”. Here, you’ll learn to notice its tune, understand what it’s trying to tell you, and respond with curiosity and compassion.
-
Children need a trusted caregiver who can love, protect, and guide them — no matter what. In this program, you’ll learn how to blend warmth and empathy with clear, loving boundaries that create safety and trust in your relationship.
-
There will always be moments when we lose connection — when our voice rises, our patience fades, or we simply get it wrong. These are called ruptures, and they’re part of every relationship. What truly matters is the repair — how we return, reconnect, and remind our child that our love is steady and safe.
-
There is no such thing as perfect parenting. Our children don’t need us to get it right all the time. They need us to be good-enough: present, responsive, and willing to repair when things go wrong. Together, we’ll explore how letting go of perfection can open space for authenticity, connection, and growth — for both you and your child.

FAQs
-
Sessions lengths will vary depending on the content to be covered, however most sessions will run for 1 - 1.5 hours.
-
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage all partners and co-parents to join. However, we do expect the same commitment from them. It is not appropriate for partners to be in and out whenever they can join as this affects the group’s felt sense of safety.
Please let us know in the enquiry form if your partner will be joining.
-
We understand it may be hard and are happy for you to have your little ones around during the session. However, we do encourage your full attention and to minimise distractions as much as possible, so you can get the most out of the sessions.
-
Unfortunately, no. COS-P was founded as a group program, where facilitated reflections and group discussions are necessary to uphold the integrity of the program.
